No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker competitor in the world by quite a few of the top-ranked professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandfather taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to discover everything he possibly could about the game. He routinely told his elders that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the negative feedback from other people kill his goal of being one of the strongest poker competitors on the planet.

Phil began competing seriously after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the casinos in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a teaching period and winning wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he destroyed many of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to discipline and a continuing love for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s learning every single day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. He knows he makes mistakes in each session of poker and constantly strives to improve.

Although Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
