Online poker has become world acclaimed recently, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit further than its TV scores. Over the years many types on the original poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with 21 than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the dealer rather than each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no bluffing or other types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up just before the dealer broadcasting "No further wagers." At that moment, both you and the casino and of course all of the other gamblers receive 5 cards. Once you have observed your hand and the dealer’s first card, you must in turn make a call bet or bow out. The call wager’s value is akin to your beginning ante, meaning that the risks will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your bet goes immediately to the dealer. After the bet comes the showdown. If the house does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is returned, including a sum in accordance with the ante. If the dealer has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand is greater than the casino’s hand. The dealer pays out cash even with your bet and controlled expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- 3-1 for 3 of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a four of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
