Online High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had a marvelous year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to achieve closing game in 3 of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might recall one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a huge pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest players around the world. While participating in internet poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. Gus regularly competes in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus generally buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Gus is an excellent poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has absolutely no reason to play at the game with the min buy-in.

Buying in for the min takes most of the skill out of big stack poker. Gus is supposed to be one of the best poker players in the world but he cannot buy in for the total amt.. I believe television can alter our perception of the real world at times. The greatest poker players in the world might just be guys you have never heard about. Gus can be seen participating in online poker on Full Tilt. He usually plays in big stakes omaha/8 and texas hold’em. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his abilities in money rounds?
