Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the normal 52-card basic deck and one joker. The player is dealt 7 cards faces showing and the casino gets 7 cards faces hidden.
A 5 card hand and one two card hand have to be put together from the 7 cards dealt, the 5 card hand has to be better than the 2 card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be larger than the casino’s.
