No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker player on the planet by many of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn everything he could about the game. Phil routinely told his elders that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the negative feedback from other people kill his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.

Phil started playing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning few years for him were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved two final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated many of the well known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to discipline and an eternal passion for the game of poker. Phil says that he’s learning every single day and is quite abashed about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes mistakes every single session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some large tournaments, he favors winning money games on a normal basis.
